Every human being is born neutral
and is like a clean slate and no mindset. Human values are closely integrated
with human life. They are intertwined with our day to day life. No human life
is possible without human values. Yes, every living human being lives by certain values.It is only the proportion of combination of negative and positive values which separates a noble human being from a not so noble human being.
The positive values are Honesty,
Compassion, Integrity, Forgiveness, Love, Knowledge, Discipline,
Faith and Leadership.
Human values can be expressed in
many ways, anything from practical examples to moral principle at the highest
levels of generality. However, genuine human values are not abstract principles
developed by academic or preachers but life embedded ideas and percepts, along
with their various justifications.
Today, in our changing world, human
values are neglected in every sphere of life. These days, a person who posse’s wealth
is respected and revered. Human values have become meaningless for human beings
have become the means for the rich to earn money. The rich, having purchased
human entity, mind with their money, are engage playing a game of chess with
the other member of society. Bereft of everything people toil round the clock
to earn a mere pittance.
These days, educated people are so
proud of their erudition that they detest illiterate people and avoid the
company of commoners. Thus they shun village life and live in towns. Those who
are at the helm of society, constantly suspicious of others, forever count
their losses and profits. They have no desire to think about the plight of
humanity. Rather, to gratify themselves they are ready to chew the human bone,
and suck human blood. For the self centered there is no place for feeling of
mercy, sympathy.
Another glaring example of the
neglected of human values is the present judicial system. When arrested people
have to stand in the dock for accused and faced a trial based on evidence and the lower’s eloquence , no matter if they are guilty or
not . A criminal who can afford to hire a reputable lawyer may emerge from the
legal processes unscathed, whereas an innocent person of meager financial means
who is unable to appoint a good counsel, may end up in prison. If a thief is
set free it is a crime but if an innocent is punished it is severe dishonor humanity.
One of the primary causes of crime
today is the lack of virtuous people. Those who are honest try to follow moral
principles in their private lives, but at times have to abandon moralist under
the pressure of poverty.The humanity, human value is declined everywhere in
every walks of life.
